Maintaining a Human Connection

The first episode focuses on a hot topic in today’s market research landscape – AI in market research. Alex, an advocate for the power of behavioral science to better understand human actions and decision-making, shares his insights on the evolving landscape of the insights industry.

“AI is a really exciting development that’s taking this whole world by storm.” Alex says. While AI’s capabilities are undeniably transforming how we gather and analyze data, Alex stresses the importance of retaining a connection to real human behaviors. In his words, “We need to have that human connection because behaviors are always changing.” AI, he argues, enables market researchers to scale insights and reach broader audiences, but it must be used alongside direct interactions with real people to ensure that we fully grasp the dynamic nature of human behavior.

Behavioral Science and Data-driven Decisions

Alex also discusses the critical role that behavioral science plays in this AI-driven era, emphasizing the need for the scientific method and data-driven decision-making. He highlights how AI tools can complement the science of behavioral research by enabling deeper understanding through more robust and diverse samples. “The more data you can leverage, the more capability you have to truly understand what’s going on,” Alex notes, suggesting a future where behavioral science and AI work hand-in-hand to improve insights and predictions.
